About the Sound of the Album:
"DÉCADA is much more than a triple album; it is a sonic manifesto celebrating 10 years of Interacciones, a deeply collective and collaborative project. The word "collective" evokes the idea of a whole that goes beyond the sum of its parts. It is the confluence of voices, talents, and thoughts that intertwine in a shared sonic fabric, a dialogue without beginning or end, where every action, no matter how discreet, matters. In this sense, collaboration is not just an aesthetic principle, but a responsibility: the balance between the individual and the group, between the particular and the collective, between the autonomy of each piece and the need for a harmonious whole.
This principle is reflected in the album's mix, which is a conscious act of maintaining balance between the sonic complexities of each collaboration. From the simplest interventions to the densest and most elaborate ones, all find their place within a sonic spectrum that is constructed with emotional fluidity. Over these ten years of work in Interacciones, each contribution was not an addition to an object, but an integral part of a mechanism created for each work and each album.
It is precisely in the mastering process where these premises come to life in a profound way. Conrado, from Casa Rara Mastering, fully understood this idea with a unique sensitivity. Instead of simply aiming for clarity and volume, he delved into the soul of the sound of Proyecto Interacciones, understanding that mastering is not just a technical process, but an extension of the very sonic narrative built collectively. This was not about amplifying the obvious or increasing the sonic impact to fit the demands of commercial sound, but about magnifying those small details, those textures that give body to every moment of the album. In Conrado's hands, the music was not only balanced but sculpted.
The most remarkable aspect of the mastering work on DÉCADA is how the illusory space in which the work unfolds was preserved, from its pre-production phase to the final mix. The sonic space-time, that illusion of four dimensions where sounds not only coexist but move and evolve slowly within the flow of the songs, unfolds evenly between expansion and dynamic containment. Compression and volume maximization were not prioritized; instead, the music was allowed to breathe and unfold naturally, with a tonal and timbral balance that is a true auditory pleasure.
Conrado always kept in mind the overall coherence of the sonic-musical narrative I tried to maintain from the earliest stages of each piece that makes up this album. It was as if he had been present throughout these ten years of Interacciones and condensed them into this album. His presence in this edition felt familiar, and we were able to work with the ease of friends who enjoy doing what they love, without losing sight of the detail, complexity, and beauty that reside in the multiplicity of people and sounds coexisting in Proyecto Interacciones."
